Church Wedding Decorations and Ideas

church wedding decorations
A grand and beautiful church like this, does not need much in the form of wedding ceremony decor. However, pew decoratons do add to the finishing touch.

Before decorating the church for a wedding, the first thing to do regarding church wedding decorations is to ask your priest or vicar if there are any restrictions with the church wedding decor.

Some churches have their own policies and customs regarding the place of worship, so it's important to ask before going to the effort and expense of purchasing flowers, church pew decorations and other creative ideas you may have only to find they are not permitted.

I found most churches will allow a medium size floral centerpiece near the alter or a centerpiece on either side. Pew decorations and candles are common. Some allow you to decorate the outside entry of the church.

Wedding ceremony decoration ideas

Here are some examples of church wedding ceremony decorations, tips and ideas to get you in the decorating mood.

Wedding candle centerpieces are one of my favourites. When the candle is lite it brings a romantic ambience to any setting.

Wedding floral centerpieces arranged in a white clay or ceramic vase add elegance and sophistication to your special day. When the wedding ceremony is over, get one of your wedding planning helpers to deliver it to the wedding reception.

Scattered Rose Petals

Scattered flower petals in the church add that romantic touch, if you are heading in this direction, get permission from the church first. Rice or confetti are least favoured because of the mess they cause, not to mention what they do to the bride's hair do.

Pew flowers like a pomander flower ball or kissing ball make for a very pretty decoration. When the ceremony is over, take them away and use them to display at your reception

The fairy princess bride walks on petals before she says, "I do". Scattered rose petals have been used in weddings from the beginning of time.

On a tight wedding budget?

If the budget is tight, it may be worthwhile asking the priest if the church has any pew decorations (from previous weddings). Most priests and ministers are happy to help.

Wedding church pew decorations

Elegant church wedding decorations come in varied forms. Wedding church pew decorations are by far the most popular wedding ceremony decor. You can start off with decorating the first pew, then every second pew, until you have 6 decorations on either side. If you are not on a tight budget, you could decorate every pew along the aisle.

Are wedding ceremony decorations necessary?

Church wedding decorations are an option. Most Churches are already decorated with stained glass, lovely flowers and candles. My advice is to visit your church first and see what they have, then start thinking of wedding decorating ideas if you think you'll need them.

I only needed to organise pew dorations for my church wedding, everything else was just perfect.

Wedding Transportation & Luxury Wedding Car Rentals

Wedding Car Decorations

Wedding car decorations add a lovely finishing touch to your wedding vehicle. Here are some wedding car decorating ideas. White wedding car ribbon is by far the most traditional element for decorating a wedding car, it is also one of the least expensive and it looks so classy.

wedding transportation - luxury wedding car

Some wedding car rentals have a variety of vehicles to choose from and there are different types of limousines: like Bentley Limousines, Cadillac Escalade Limo, Ferrari Limo, Lamborghini Limo, the Roll Royce Limo, Corvette Limo, Chevrolets, stretch Hummer limousines, a vintage limo or perhaps an Exotic Limo etc. Or you can do something completely unique and original: like a horse-drawn carriage, a motorcycle, hot air balloon... the list goes on.

Wedding Transportation is all about getting the bridal party from A to B and to the church on time. And if you're having more than one wedding car hire vehicle, you'll also want them to arrive at the same time as the bride – if not, before.

When you rent wedding cars or hire a limo, pick a reputable wedding limousine service - as punctuality, attendance, insurance and safety are very important. Price can vary from one car hire company to the next, it is possible to get cheap limos, but you must plan in advance and do some shopping around. And if you leave things to the last minute, you'll be paying top dollar for your car. Fairy Godmother tip; be sure to create a wedding transport checklist before signing or paying for anything. Make a list of questions to ask that are a high priority for you for the day.

Wedding Transport Checklist

Before The Wedding Ceremony

You'll need a wedding day timeline that includes every aspect of your wedding preparations before the ceremony and the wedding ceremony order of events to prepare you for what's to come.

The trip to the wedding ceremony can be one of the most thrilling moments a bride will ever encounter - and more than a little frightening as well. The moment the wedding limousine drives up to the church, the bride is THE centre of attention. She will be photographed - and lovingly gazed upon - more than any other time in her life. She will also look more beautiful than at any other time in her life. Excellent reason to have a classy, luxury wedding car.

After The Wedding Ceremony

After the ceremony, the journey from the church to the wedding reception will be wonderous. Champagne, canapés, enjoying scenic water views with your brand new husband. The gorgeous ring on your finger - it doesn't get any better than that! Another superb reason to do it in luxury, comfort and style.

Grand Entrance with a Luxury Wedding Car

Remember, this is your day. The grand entrance is all about being the star celebrities of the day. Superb reason to have a sleak exotic limo announce your arrival! All eyes will be on the bride and her groom. Just imagine the wedding photo's.

Wedding Reception Timeline

A well planned wedding reception timeline helps the bride and groom form a mental image of the wedding reception order of events. They discuss the order of the events with the reception manager and the master of ceremonies (MC). This is to ensure everything runs smoothly, on time and according to your requests. The order can be changed and customised to suit your own wedding ideas and different wedding customs.

10 Great Engagement Proposal Ideas

Hopeful man romantically proposing to surprised girlfriend and offering engagement ring

What do all the engagement proposal ideas have in common? They have a common goal – to be accepted and safely and happily married. End of search. Everybody's happy, right? And the greatest minds in all history have pondered on romantic ways to get engaged. Einstein developed his theory of relativity waiting for an answer to his marriage proposal. Shakespeare wrote Romeo and Juliet while plotting the perfect proposal.

Genghis Khan, it is said, swept through Asia in search of the perfect wedding proposal. With hundreds of wives and concubines, he had to. After all, 'marry me or I'll destroy your city!' gets lame after a while. The good news is that wedding proposal ideas don't have to break the bank. In fact for many young ladies, romantic wedding proposals don't have to be unique or done in exotic locations, they only have to be memorable and make them feel like they are really wanted and valued. Of course, this goes to demonstrate why Ghengis Khan conquered half the world instead.

Very Cool Marriage Proposal Ideas

Here are a few creative marriage proposal ideas to help stimulate your imagination. And remember, some of the best marriage proposals are simple and inexpensive.

Battery Operated Asian Paper Lantern1. The Romantic Candle Trail Proposal

Tea light candles. This one is simplicity itself. All you need is night, a box of small tea light candles and a little help from an accomplice. (Or some battery operated paper lanterns and turn them on in advance). While you take your good lady by the hand and lead her into the darkness, the sight of the candle trail or lanterns will at first inspire curiosity and wonder as you walk the candle trail. Hidden from view, the candle trail comes to a table with a lovely dinner, champagne in bucket and a host of candles. Musical accompaniment would be an added bonus. A trusted accomplice to organise the food, drink and candles etc would also have to be a shoe-in for the post of Best Man.

A wedding proposal at a romantic restaurant.2. The Fancy Restaurant Proposal

3. Romantic Christmas Proposal

3a. The Christmas Present Proposal

Tiffany Engagement Ring box.As wedding proposal stories go, this one will entertain your children and grandchildren for years to come, as well as give your wife bragging rights of the day her true love gave her a Tiffany engagement ring and became her fiance. 3b. The Santa Claus Proposal

Parachuting or parasailing marriage proposal.4. The Tandem Parachute or Parasailing Proposal

Timing is important with this one. If you've opted for parachuting, the proposal has to come after the chute opens, otherwise the authenticity of the acceptance comes into question, not to mention the weirdness of waiting until she answers before pulling the ripcord.

Love hearts, skywriting, marriage proposal.5. The Skywriter Marriage Proposal

10. The Football Game Proposal

Football game, marriage proposal.Okay, okay, I know some people will cringe in horror at the prospect of a marriage proposal in front of 80,000 people, but yes, it is highly irregular. The crowd should not be relied on to gang up on the girl, but simply to cheer an already done deal.
